For the past twenty-three years Olean Community Theatre has been our home. The people we've met and worked with and played with through dozens of productions have lived in our lives alongside our own children. They are our Olean family. And for the past four years, our Olean world has shared our time with our grandchildren as well.
But our children and grandchildren live far from Olean. Just yesterday our grandson was born...and now he's four years old. And we need hugs and kisses for real. Our granddaughter just turned two. Snapshots alone just won't do any longer.
The decision to leave our adopted hometown of almost forty years was made last summer. It was a sudden idea with a very sketchy outline of a plan as to when and how. And it was met with enthusiasm and encouragement by our children. Whew!
And so...we're leaving the place and the people who have sustained us for a good chunk of our adult lives to be with our own beautiful, happy, growing family.
No regrets, only lovely memories of bright lights, fun, and wonderful, talented, loving people who bring joy to the crowds and love to us. To them we give our most heartfelt thanks and deepest love always.
And we know that they wish for us the same happiness we wish for them.
